Welcome home. It should be obvious by now, we believe that many of those people today who call themselves environmental educators are actually doing other things. The term environmental education has been so misused and abused that we have given up on it. Perhaps someday that area of the field will sort itself out and begin rectifying its current image as merely an umbrella for outdoor interests. We wish them well. We even hope our work might be of some assistance in their efforts.

Meanwhile, we want to get on with the urgent task of earth education. It is an alternative designed specifically for those who are serious about an educational response to our environmental crisis and are willing to make the personal sacrifices necessary to see genuine, broad-based educational programs implemented for that purpose. The goal of helping people develop a better sense of relationship with the earth, while learning to live more lightly upon it, is too important to let it get lost out there amidst a plethora of unrelated groups and committees and reports.

We are making a home for it.
