Cedar Cove
Our International Headquarters

Nestled among the rolling hills overlooking Greenville, West Virginia, Cedar Cove is the permanent home of The Institute for Earth Education.

It's a place where our volunteer staff can come together to work on new programs or just to recharge and find out what's happening with earth education around the world. And our Great Hall, with its hand-forged wrought-iron artistry, massive wooden beams and unusual stone chimneys, provides the perfect indoor setting for workshops, short courses, meetings, etc.

Guardians Of The Lost Kingdom

From the springfed streams, cool hollows and panoramic vistas of the Cove to the monarchical trees, ancient glens and dramatic caves of the adjoining "Lost Kingdom of the Tellurian Gnomes," this is an unmatched "home base" for earth education. We are anxious to share it with you.

Members interested in a working holiday can join us in developing this wonderful site.

Interns can participate in tutorials on earth education, environmental living and nonprofit operation, while practicing the necessary skills for all three at Cedar Cove.

The School of the Earth will be based at Cedar Cove and will provide international visitors with an ongoing platform for presenting and analyzing alternative ways of "living more lightly and quietly" within our planet's finite film of life, while developing a deeper sense of relationship with its many nonhuman forms. Pursuing its mission through conducting courses, offering internships, sponsoring forums, and similar vehicles, the school will offer a nontraditional academic home for exploring our relationship with the planet we share.
